How To Get One Way Links
Written by Chewie on August 2, 2009 – 4:49 amThis is a simple but valuable article for beginners on how to get quality links to your website. There are a lot of sites out there that all tell you that you need to write good content, and then people will naturally link to you. This is probably the most bullcrap thing I hear from people online. Here is why.
Lets say for starters that I write about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I am starting off with no links, and probably will rank nowhere for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Despite my content may be very well written, there are probably not many people that are going to link to me unless I do something so outrageous that my site gets viral traffic from youtube or something else that is way over the top. I’m not saying people won’t link to you, but if you don’t have something extra special, it doesn’t matter how good your content is, nobody is going to link to you (except maybe some scrapers).
What are your options?
So now that we have established that great content doesn’t always get you links, then you have to figure out how you are going to get links. If you are wondering why you need links for those of you new to SEO or internet marketing, good relevant links to your website means better ranking for the keywords you want to be found for in Google.
The first option you have is to build a bunch of sites of your own linking into your main site. This is a strategy that many use, but take a great deal of money up front, and a lot of research to get the right sites set up which link in to the main site. On top of that, is the fact that the sites you build will need to have some strength of their own in order to pass on value to your main website.
The second option involves purchasing links. This is something I have not touched on before. This is also something Google does not like very well. There are a number of reasons I could answer as to why, but I’m not going to go into depth on it. A lot of people I know have been quite successful with this method, rank well in Google for some of the most competitive terms, and make lots of money because they simply don’t have time to build a large network of their own sites, and buy links instead of waiting for a miracle, or networking with other people in hopes of getting free links. This is also probably one of the fastest ways to rank in Google as well.
The third option which I did mention slightly in the last paragraph is social networking. Obviously the more people online you make friends with who also run websites, the better chance you have at getting free links from them. This can be an extremely tedious task, and many simply do not have the time nor patience to wait for this being a viable link solution. Others on the other hand who have been making contacts for years have a large group of friends who will send a link or 2 their way when they need it.
The fourth option, and something you should already be doing is article marketing. This means getting links from article directories online. I am going to say that at one point I promoted unique article wizard, and it worked well, but now I do not use it. I have noticed Google deindexing a lot of sites that post unique article wizard articles on them. However I do recommend using Ezine Articles, Go Articles, Hubpages, and Squidoo. These can be great sources to obtain links by writing articles that are valuable to the reader.
The last tactic some have used to get links is by baiting, but in order to do this you need a blog or content management system that you can update. If you have an ecommerce site, you will find that this can be a very tough thing to do. Link baiting involves writing something about someone else or about a topic which someone else may have already touched on, and then either linking to another persons blog with that source, and writing in such a way that causes them to follow up with another post in which they link to your site or blog. This can be a powerful tactic when executed properly.
You may have other methods for getting links, such as commenting on blogs and others, but the ones I have mentioned are the most common. Getting one way backlinks can be time consuming, but is a necessity for ranking well in Google. If you have any questions on this article feel free to email me and I will do my best to point you in the right direction.

3 Way linking to Rank You Up
Written by Chewie on November 29, 2008 – 2:22 pmSome people ask me how in the heck to get lots of links to a site. They don’t want to do 2 way linking because that’s just sending more juice right back out. One method you can use to make money online requires a domain you don’t plan on using. OK, so this is a method I like to call collateral damage linking. First off you need a preowned domain with some PR. Once you have that and a nice handful of posts on the blog then start contacting people to do some link trading with.
Once you get in contact with a person that is willing to do a link trade with, you add them to the blogroll of your site just for trading with. And then have them link back to your money site you are building. Most people don’t care that you already have some blogroll links on a site, so you can repeat this process maybe even 10-20 times.
Now what do you have? You have a site with a boat load of links pointing to it, while you have another domain taking the hit with outgoing links. Not go get some article directory links and some comment links, and you should be set. That is if the niche is not too overly competitive. Or even if it is just repeat this process over and over again.
There’s another Make money online Wookie tip for you online junkies. I hope you liked it. If you already use that method then I am happy for you. Have a nice day folks!!

How to build PR with Wordpress – Part 1
Written by Chewie on November 13, 2008 – 9:49 amFirst off I want to say this post has been changed. The first post I made related to using tags in wordpress.com to get link juice flowing. Those tags have since been changed to nofollow which I didn’t realize as it was brought to my attention. It was a method that worked for me last time I built them but has since changed as they have added the nofollow to all of them.
One of the best ways to bring in juice to your site from an external means is using free wordpress.com sites. Part of the problem with getting links that people have at times is doing link exchange with other sites in their niche. Maybe they are hard to find, or its just an obscure subject. In that case you will have to work a little smarter to make sites that have some strong PR. I like to use wordpress.com blogs.
One of the easiest types of link exchanges is wordpress.com blogs. The reason for this is simple, most people have no worries about losing juice since wordpress.com is a non monetized platform. The other reason is that its free to them, so they are also not investing money in their sites.
So how would you begin this process? The first thing you would do is, build a wordpress blog around a subject that a lot of people write about. You might try philosophy, art, photography, poetry, or any of that. After about 4 or 5 posts, you will use the wordpress tags to find other blogs that have high PR in similar categories as you. Once you find them, go ahead and actually take a few minutes to read some of their posts or information about them. Then either use their email if they provide one, or leave a meassage on their about me page even. Let them know you enjoy their blog, and that you have added them to your blogroll. Let them know you would be honored if they added you to theirs as well, and to keep up the great work in writing about what they write about.
Once they come to your blog and see their site on your blogroll, they will more than be likely to add you to theirs. Now I can tell you not everyone is going to add you to their blogroll folks, so just be sure to keep at it. My success rate at a link trade is about 1 in 7. But think about this for a second. If you get at least 2 people to give you a link back from a PR4 or PR5 blog most likely next update you should have at the very least a PR3. Sometimes a PR4.
Then once you have the juice, start conforming your blog to the niche that you are working so that you will relevantly link out to your money site. I can tell you from experience this is an easy way to get a PR4 wordpress.com blog if you spend the little time to exchange the links.
If you find my tips to be helpful feel free to add me to your blogroll or link back to this page. Wookies love links you know!

Get backlinks that are strong
Written by Chewie on November 10, 2008 – 11:03 amI think something that many new people have trouble with is not the getting of backlinks, but getting strong backlinks. There are plenty of automated tools that you can use to get links, but what happens when you have gotten bumped up to the 2nd page of Google for the term or terms you are working at with your blog when you can’t seem to get any higher?
A great guy, and one of the wiser blogger’s on the internet that has no problem making money online with his blogs will tell you its all in the backlinks. Well sure you might say, but he has authority and is also well established. While that may be true did you ever think of the fact that there may be 10 other people telling themselves the same thing? Maybe I’m not clear so let me make it clear. In order for you to succeed as a newb in blogging for money, you will need to get out there and network with people that are in the same boat with you.
Not everyone has the type of network built up that can hold its own and feed itself when it needs. So what do you do? Make friends, find others in the same niche as you. share some link love and 3 way link as much as possible. I can tell you when I first started in this business that I was always greedy with my linking. I didn’t want to link out to others because I felt I was giving away too much to them. Well guess what? I rank on top of the serps in more than several niches based on the power of link exchanges.
If you don’t have the ability to sustain yourself I am going to tell you right now to stop being greedy and work out some linking with others that have well founded blogs like yourself. You are both seeking a greater good. Why not help each other out along the way?
This is just one simple way of how to create backlinks, and another make money online free tip for you to think about. If you want to dominate the serps with few resources and get strong backlinks that are extremely targeted, then seek out others that are like minded.
