This is definitely a great take home note for most marketers. When folks build multiple niche sites at once it can be easy to forget to take that number one spot, which can lead an individual to close or stop promoting a site early before it really has a chance to show it’s potential.

Although, to play devil’s advocate for a second, getting to page 1 is a good early goal typically for new IMers. One gets to see the traffic come in and the conversions (if there are any take place). Of course, taking these winners and getting to number 1 is the only way to get to the true promise land.

@Allyn – You know it buddy. I tell you what I have learned from you Allyn, that if I drink enough beer I could actually drop my monotone voice and make a pretty entertaining video. I also tend to drink more when i visit your blog. Whats up with that?!!
